DXO Labs has announced that version 5 of its Pureraw image processing suite will drop on 15th April. DXO Pureraw5 will debut a new user interface, improved DeepPRIME 3 AI-driven denoising and enhanced support for Fujifilm X-trans sensor output.
Improvements in selection tools and localised adjustment are being headlined by DXO. If you use presets a lot, there is improved support for these coming, too.
One popular aspect of DXO Pureraw is that it is sold as a perpetual licence, at least for the version you choose. DXO’s biggest rival, Adobe, ended its perpetual licencing pricing strategy for Lightroom and Photoshop some time ago.
Until 15th April, DXO is offering new customers Pureraw4 free if you pre-order Pureraw5. A new licence for Pureraw5 is priced 119.99 (Euros and US Dollars) or £109.99. Existing owners of Pureraw versions 3 or 4 can upgrade to 5 for 79.99 €/$ or £69.99.
More details can be found at the DXO website.
Fun fact: DXO Labs and DxOMark have been separate companies since 2017. DxOMark is a highly visible entity in the area of smartphone and smartphone camera performance ratings. The company also offers testing software and services to industrial partners. DXO Labs is focuse on software tools for photographers in general. Both companies remain close to each other, based in Boulogne-Billancourt, a suburb of Paris, France.
